Oakland, California artist, Sarah Pixie Pay was born in Oslo, Norway of Norwegian artist parents, and has lived most of her life in the U.S. Her powerful artistic drive is inborn, and she is at ease in a creative environment.

Sarah's curious style of painting humans and animals conveys a feeling which is at once open and slightly surreal. She mainly works with oils, though sometimes water color is the medium of choice. Quite naturally, her inspirations are artists such as Odd Nerdrum, Egon Schiele and Edvard Munch. Arthur Suydam, Robert Peak and Milo Manara are a few of the illustrators that have also been influential. Moved and motivated by fantasy art, this is often reflected in her paintings.
